JOIN US IN HONORING JIM DURRETT AND MARC POLLACK AS OUR 2025 INDUSTRY IMPACT AWARD WINNERS

Jim and Marc embody the values that define ULI Atlanta: leadership, collaboration and a commitment to building inclusive, equitable communities that thrive for generations. Their impact is felt not only in the projects they’ve led, but in the relationships they’ve fostered and the shared vision they’ve helped cultivate within our ULI community. We are honored to celebrate their contributions as part of this milestone year.
Amanda Rhein, District Council Chair of ULI AtlantaCommunity Impact Award
Jim Durrett will receive the 2025 Community Impact Award to honor his significant and ongoing impact on Atlanta’s built environment. A lifelong Atlantan and visionary advocate for smart growth, Jim has spent nearly three decades advancing livable communities across the region. His leadership roles span the Georgia Conservancy, Metro Atlanta Chamber and Livable Communities Coalition, as well as serving as the first executive director of ULI Atlanta. He currently directs the Buckhead Community Improvement District and the Buckhead Coalition and serves on the MARTA Board of Directors and the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Transportation and Air Quality Committee.
The Community Impact Award honors leaders within the non-profit or public sector who have significantly contributed to promoting responsible land use in the metropolitan Atlanta region. It originated in 1998 as the Dan & Tally Sweat Award, and presented to Renee Glover that year for leadership at the Atlanta Housing Authority. Past Awards have also recognized Keith Parker for his role at MARTA, Marcia Bansley for her leadership at Trees Atlanta and making sure Atlanta remains a ‘city in a park’, Dennis Creech for the sustainability legacy of SouthFace, AJ Robinson for his steadfast commitment to downtown Atlanta, and Bill Bolling for his work at the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Industry Impact Award
The Industry Impact Award will recognize Marc Pollack, co-founder of RangeWater Real Estate. With over 35 years of experience, Marc has led the development, acquisition and disposition of more than 30,000 housing units, valued at over $4 billion. A passionate advocate for affordable housing, homelessness and community investment, he co-founded the Atlanta Affordable Housing Fund in 2020 to create and preserve affordable housing in Atlanta. In addition, Marc has been Board Chair of Partners for Home, the lead agency in the Continuum of Care for homelessness in the ATL. His latest venture, EQ Housing Advisors, is an Atlanta-based non-profit acquisition, development, investment and advisory firm dedicated to advancing affordable housing projects and nurturing emerging developers across the Southeast.
The Industry Impact Award, formerly known as the Frank Carter Award, is given to an individual in the field of real estate development or related area such as finance, planning, or design who has made an outstanding contribution in their lifetime to the Atlanta metro region. It was first awarded in 1995 to Tom Cousins. Over the years, it has celebrated leaders like AJ Land, John Portman, Lawrence and Mary Gellerstedt, Chip Davidson, Noel Khalil (posthumously), and David Allman.
